In line with our quest to be a healthy school, we are delighted to be able to offer our children a dedicated cookery room.

Children are taught how to cook and apply the principles of nutrition and healthy eating. Learning how to cook is a crucial life skill that enables children to feed themselves and others now and in their later life.

Children are taught about:

  • The basic principles of a healthy and varied diet
  • where food comes from
  • a range of cooking techniques
  • seasonality, and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed

We are always happy to receive some helping hands when cooking - if you have a particular passion for cooking and would be interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you!
