A day in the life of Nursery

A day in the life of Earlswood Nursery 2018-2019

Children at Earlswood Nursery enjoy a balanced diet of free choice and structured activities, which are specifically designed to support their physical, personal, social, emotional and educational development.

All sessions are planned using the interests of the children and build on observations that have been made during the children’s play. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

8.30am - 8.45am/12.30pm - 12.45pm

Children are welcomed by staff and friends and settle to a self-chosen task.

8.45am - 11.00am/12.45pm - 3.00pm

The outside area is open and available for the children to select from throughout the morning. Some of the things on offer might be arts & crafts, role-play, science & discovery, books, maths, cooking, games and physical equipment – indoors and outdoors. Children are offered a healthy snack (piece of fruit or vegetable) and either milk or water.

11.00am - 11.15am/3.00pm - 3.15pm

All children participate in a small group session which will focus on language activities and this is led by their key worker, e.g. sharing a story, letter games.

11.15am - 11.30am/3.15pm - 3.30pm

End of session, songs and rhymes before home time.
