Home Learning - Week Beginning 4.1.21 and 11.1.21

Welcome to Home Learning! We know this time is a little bit different as some children will be attending school. However, the work set at home is the same as what those children in school will be doing.

Below we have attached an overview of the learning for this week. We would like to remind you that this work is compulsory so please contact us if your child is having issues completing it.

As before, the work for the children will be set on Google Classroom. In order for us to respond to their work effectively we would like them to upload/submit all of their work on Google Classroom. We understand that sometimes the children will be working on paper so if you are able to take a picture and upload it as their submitted work on Google Classroom rather than emailing it to their teachers that would be great!

The children will have the opportunity to have one live PSHE lesson with their class teachers. We have assigned you all one slot for each week so please make sure you know which day you are signed up for!

Alongside the work we are putting up for the children we would like to remind you that they can also carry on doing lots of reading, using Times Tables Rockstars and completing their spelling quizzes on Purple Mash. There are also some more ideas for home learning on our website:

https://www.earlswood.surrey.sch.uk/home-learning/

Thank you in advance for your perseverance and support!

Message about home learning - 4th January 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

During this period of home learning, your child’s work will be set via Google Classrooms. You can access their account by going to www.login.earlswood.school. This website contains user guides for setting up accounts on different devices and also has a link to your child's login details if you have lost them.

For parents using a personal chrome book (not ones provided by the school), set up is slightly different to other devices and must be done at a specific time because the system has to be disabled. Please activate your child’s account on Monday (4th January) between 12.00-12.30pm or 5.00-5.30pm. During these time periods, Google Classroom may not be accessible on other devices. If you have any problems accessing your child’s account, please email your child’s class teacher.

Yours faithfully,

The Federation of Earlswood Schools

Year 2 Remote Learning 4.1.21

Millipede and Honeybee classes

Dear Honeybee and Millipede parents and children ,

What a shame that our term has ended so suddenly! We are sad that we won't be spending the last two days of the year together in school but the important thing is that we are safe and well. At least we were able to have our Christmas lunch and Christmas party before this closure and this is something to be thankful for. We are lucky that we have been able to celebrate all the wonderful achievements you have made during your first term as year two children and celebrate Christmas in true Earlswood style.

The children have all worked so hard and we feel like very lucky teachers indeed! We are very proud of you and you should be very proud of yourselves.

If you have any queries or questions over the next few days please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please also look at our year group page for links to learning projects that you can access from home. Enjoy watching your Nativity too! What super stars you all are!

We would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and we very much look forward to seeing you all again in January.

Best wishes and warm winter blessings to you all during this festive season.

Miss Beirne, Mrs Candy, Miss Royce, Miss Huggett and Miss Nawaz and all of the Y2 team
