Week Beginning 4.7.22

 

Maths: This week we will be learning about triangles, quadrilaterals and symmetry.

 

Writing: This week the children will be learning about the features of a recount, including relative clauses and rhetorical questions.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'Thieves of Ostia', focussing on making inferences from the text.

 

Topic: This week we will be learning about how the Romans influenced the culture in Britain.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be learning about the circle of change and how it can be applied to make changes in our lives.

Week Beginning 27.6.22

 

Maths: This week we will be learning about identifying, comparing and ordering angles.

 

Writing: This week the children will be starting to learn our new text which is a recount called 'Missing Monarch Mystery'.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'Thieves of Ostia', focussing on identifying and explaining how information is related.

 

Topic: This week we will be learning about who Boudicca was, what she looked like and her role in Roman history.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be learning about how a girl's body changes in order for her to have a baby and that menstruation is a natural part of this.

Maths: This week we will be learning about interpreting line graphs and starting to identify angles.

 

Writing: This week the children will be continuing to learn about the features of a defeating the monster tale, including show not tell, dramatic phrases and 'ing' clauses.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'Thieves of Ostia', focussing on making comparisons within the text.

 

Topic: This week we will be learning about the Roman army, why they invaded Britain and what Roman life was like.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be learning about the internal and external parts of make and female bodies that are necessary for making a baby.

Maths: This week we will be learning about interpreting different types of charts, including bar models and pictograms.

 

Writing: This week the children will be learning about the features of a defeating the monster tale, including show not tell, dramatic phrases and 'ing' clauses.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'Thieves of Ostia', focussing on identifying key information in the text.

 

Topic: This week some children are going on our residential and learning lots about the Romans. The children who are at school will also be starting our Romans topic, including doing some art and some cooking.

 

PSHE:  This week there will not be a PSHE lesson.

Topic: This week the children will be learning about how sounds are made and about how pitch and volume affect sound.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be starting our PSHE unit called 'Changing Me'.

Maths: This week we will be learning about using AM and PM and the 24-hour clock.

 

Writing: This week the children will be learning writing their own poems using adverbs, alliteration and personification.

Topic: This week is Sports Week and we will also be celebrating the Jubilee!

 

PSHE:  This week we will be thinking about how to show love and appreciation to the people and animals who are special to you.

Maths: This week we will be learning about telling the time to 5 minutes and 1 minute, using AM and PM and the 24-hour clock.

 

Writing: This week the children will be learning about the features of poems.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', focussing on making inferences using evidence from the text.

 

Topic: This week we will be learning about the water cycle and where evaporation and condensation fit into the process.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be thinking about what is means to have a boyfriend or girlfriend and that they are special relationships for when you are older.

Maths: This week we will be learning about adding and subtracting money.

 

Writing: This week the children will be learning our new text which is a poem called 'Cave of Curiosity'.

 

Reading: This week we will be reading our book 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', focussing on explaining how information is related and can contribute to the meaning as a whole.

 

Topic: This week we will be looking at the work of Jackson Pollock and using his themes and ideas to create our own art pieces.

 

PSHE:  This week we will be thinking about how friendships can change, how to make new friends and how to manage if you fall out with your friends.
