Modern foreign languages being taught within key stage 2 gives children the opportunity to learn about other cultures. At Earlswood, we aim to cultivate an inquisitiveness and understanding about the world around our pupils.
Our teaching allows children to express themselves in French through songs, stories and physical movements. This fosters an environment where pupils can communicate by listening and responding to speakers and using the written word. We want to inspire children to take their language learning with them into further education and life and develop an understanding of cultures across the world.
Alongside the focus of French at Key stage 2, we nurture our community’s languages. through having a 'Language of the month'. Children will learn greetings and some basic vocabulary.
