Year 2 Reading

Please ensure that your child has their reading record and reading book in school daily. Teachers will be reading with children on different days of the week. Children have the opportunity to change their book every week. 

Year 2

Homework

Reading

Year 2 Children will be given a reading book appropriate for their stage of development twice a week and in addition, they may select a book of their choice. Please try to read for 10 minutes every day with your child and record this in the reading record book as we are working towards collecting items for their reading teds.

Maths

By the end of Year 2, most children will be expected to be able to count in multiples of 2,  3, 5, 10, recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 3,  5 and 10 multiplication tables. Please practise these at home.

Times tables Rockstars – please complete a minimum of two sessions a week at home.
