A Place to Learn Together
We offer Nursery Provision to Year 6
Earlswood's House point system
As part of our ongoing work to enhance our Behaviour and Relationships Policy, this year children will be earning house points for displaying positive behaviour, effort, teamwork and resilience.
Every child will have the opportunity to earn house points by demonstrating the Earlswood SMILE expectations and by showing our learning behaviours, resilience, independence, motivation, collaboration and by being reflective.
The points are tallied up each week and the weekly winner is announced across each site in our celebration assemblies. At the end of each half term the winning house will win an own clothes day for the following half term.
In school competitions are run to help houses gain house points and to demonstrate the benefits of collaborating with others. These include but are not limited to, TTRS competitions, Spelling bees and Sports Days.
The houses will be working towards winning the prestigious house shield at the end of the year.

Each child has been split into one of four houses: Emlyn, Knighton, Ifold and Althorne.
Emlyn is a Welsh name, typically masculine, meaning "to strive," "excel," or "rival".

The name "Ifold" primarily refers to a place-name in West Sussex, England. It means open land where yew-trees grow.

Knighton refers to a place associated with knights or young men who were granted land. It is a name associated with a noble and courageous past.

The meaning of Althorne is derived from Old English and translates to "(place at) the burnt thorn-tree," composed of the words "æled" (burnt) and "thorn" (thorn-tree).
