A Place to Learn Together
We offer Nursery Provision to Year 6
Children’s Mental Health Week Monday 9th February and Own Clothes Day Wednesday 11th February.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improve our children’s mental health and wellbeing, we are pleased to announce that we are taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 (in association with Place2Be).
The theme for this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is: This is my Place.
During the week, we’ll be talking about how we can help everyone feel like they belong. We’ll learn how to be kind, include others, and make sure no one feels left out.
On Wednesday 11th February, the children will be exploring what it means to belong to their house and take part in activities with their house team members in another year group. On this day, we would like to invite children to wear the colour of the house they belong to: Emlyn (Green), Knighton (Yellow), Ifold (Blue) and Althorne (Green).
If your child does not have any clothes in their house colour, they are welcome to wear their PE top.
If you would like to learn more about Children’s Mental Health Week, please visit the Place2Be website for more information and resources you might like to use at home.
If you would like to speak to someone about your child’s mental health and wellbeing, please contact our Pastoral Team through the school office.

We Need Your Help!
With STEM week fast approaching, Year 5 are looking for a visitor to school with a link to boats. We will be investigating boats during STEM week and will link this to our learning about forces and water resistance.
If anyone is happy to volunteer, please email the junior office who will pass the details on to Miss Eddington.
Homework
Homework will begin on Friday 19th September. Each week it will be set on a Friday and is due in on the following Thursday.
Maths homework is set on the google classroom. Their log ins are in their reading record books. Your child has been invited to a homework class of either Lions or Meerkats. They need to accept the invitation to join the correct class.
The Maths homework should be completed on the google classroom form each week. They will then bring their score into school to record on the class sheet.
The reading homework will be in the form of a comprehension. They will bring home the text and questions each week. Please ensure that they return the question part each week. They should mark their answers using the answer sheet which is posted on google classrooms each week and bring their score to school.
Please also remember that they also need to read at least five times a week and need to sign their reading record books to show the date, title of book and page numbers read.
Please let us know if there are any issues - a note in the reading record book is fine.
Home Reading
Please remember that as part of our Homework policy, children are expected to read 5 times a week and record their read in their reading record book.
Wonde logins
We are experiencing some difficulty with some of the Wonde logins. Your child's login should be brought home in their reading record book. Please test that it works.
If you do not have a device for them to use, please speak to the school office.
