Welcome to Year 3. The children have settled in beautifully and are adapting well to life at the Juniors.
Please ensure your child has a pair of wellies in school. Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday when they are to come into school in PE kit which includes their coloured house t-shirt.
Children are welcome to bring a snack to school each day to have at playtime. Can you please ensure this is a fruit or vegetable snack. Thank you.
Writing: This week in writing we will be learning our model text all about lions. We will begin to learn the toolkit for a non-fiction nonchronological report. We will be using generaliser and expanded noun phrases.
Maths: We will be working on place value up to 1000. We will be partitioning numbers and looking at hundreds.
Reading: Our book this half term is 'The Akimbo Adventures'. We will be using our reading skills including retrieval and inference to answer comprehension this week.
Topic: This week we will have an art focus. We will be looking at using a variety of resources to create observational drawings of animal skulls.
