Week beginning 8th December
This week the children have enjoyed listening to The Jolly Postman and other Christmas stories. The children loved performing their Christmas songs to their parents and carers and thank you to everyone that could join us. They have loved creating snowflakes and baubles to decorate our Christmas tree.

Maths: We are going to be recognising the colour white as well as practising our subitising to 3.
Gosling Christmas lunch The Gosling children will enjoy their Christmas lunch on Wednesday 10th December.
Donations for Nursery We would be grateful for any off cuts of Christmas wrapping paper that we can use for crafting with the children over the next couple of weeks, thank you.

Week beginning 1st December 2025
This week the children have enjoyed retelling the story of The Gingerbread man and then making their own Gingerbread men using different materials. They have also enjoyed finding ice in the garden and preparing our garden to plant some Spring bulbs.

Week beginning 24th November 2025.
This week the children have loved learning about space and especially enjoying our space den we have created. They have loved exploring light and dark in this area of the room using torches. We loved playing in the snow on Wednesday and exploring the ice on Thursday.

Maths: We are going to be comparing different objects by height as well as describing locations and routes using prepositional language through our key texts.

Week beginning 17/11/25
This week the children enjoyed learning about Remembrance day on Tuesday and they loved creating different poppy art. They have also enjoyed learning about the planets and creating their own rockets and planets using monochrome printing. On Friday the children will enjoy learning about Children in need and creating lots of Pudsey bear inspired crafts.

Christmas singing: The children have started to rehearse our songs to perform to you on Christmas making day. the songs will be; our Hello song, Twinkle Twinkle, Jingle bells, Little snowflake, Santa got stuck, I'm a little Snowman, We wish you a merry Christmas.
Maths: We are going to be revising the 2d shapes we have learnt so far and introduce triangles and rectangles and then using the 2d shapes to create space rockets.
Our garden: We are going to begin getting our garden spring ready next week. We would love to plant some spring bulbs that we can watch grow and look forward to seeing them flower next term. If you have anything you would like to donate to our garden, including any Spring bulbs/herbs that we can plant, we would be grateful of any donations, thank you.

Week beginning 10/11/25
This week the children loved their Forest school experience on Wednesday where they got to take part in a treasure hunt to find winter items and they loved launching their handmade fireworks. We have enjoyed creating our sculptures in the style of Andy Goldworthy using different natural materials.

Odd Socks Day 10th November /Anti Bullying Week 10th -15th November
On Monday 10th November we ask that children wear odd socks to mark the start of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week (No donation is required). Odd Socks Day encourages us to express ourselves and celebrate our individuality and what makes us unique. During this year’s Anti-Bullying Week, we are encouraging the children to use their ‘power for good’ encouraging the children to use their powers to make a positive impact. Thank you for your support with these special events.
Children in Need: This year, we are supporting Children in Need on Friday 14th November. Your donations make a real difference and just a small contribution can change the lives of children. For a donation of £1 or more, pupil parliament have asked that all staff and children wear their own bright coloured clothes and if possible, something spotty, to support Children in Need. Please bring your donation with you on the day and hand it to your class teacher, or we are offering the opportunity to go cashless and donate via Scopay.
Remembrance day
We will be celebrating Remembrance day on Tuesday 11th November by allowing the children to participate in plenty of poppy activities.
Parents Evenings
These meetings will be held on the following days: Tuesday 25th November 3:50-6:30pm Thursday 27th November 3:50-6:30pm. You will be able to make bookings from 12 noon Thursday 6th November until midnight on Thursday 20th November. Week beginning 3/11/25
This week the children begun the week celebrating Diwali and they have also loved exploring the "Room on the broom" story and creating their own broomsticks and potions. The children have also enjoyed finding items that are long and short and comparing different items to find which one is shorter and longer.

Maths: We are continuing to learn to recognise the numbers 1-3 without having to count (subitising)and matching the correct number of objects to the numeral (up to 5). We will also be learning about positional language including "up and down" and using positional language to describe locations of things.
Sculpture week: The children will be learning about the artist Andy Goldsworthy and using natural resources to create their own sculptures. Please ensure that your child brings in their natural resources that you find over half term on their first day back after half term. These items can include; pebbles, sticks, pine cones, leaves, stones.

Week beginning 20/10/25
This week the children have enjoyed preparations for Diwali by creating their own Diva lamps and Rangoli patterns ready for next week. The children have also enjoyed exploring pumpkins this week including scooping out the insides of a pumpkin and making their own pumpkin soup in the mud kitchen. They have loved exploring circles and finding different examples of circles around the nursery.
Next week our key texts will be Room on the broom, What's in the witch's kitchen? We're going on a pumpkin hunt.
Key Rhymes: A sailor went to sea
Maths: We are continuing to learn to recognise the numbers 1-3 without having to count (subitising)and matching the correct number of objects to the numeral (up to 5). We will also be learning about length and comparing large and small objects. We will link this with our key texts and the children will be comparing the lengths of different broomsticks they make and compare large and small pumpkins.
Diwali: We will be celebrating Diwali on Monday and Tuesday. If your child has not already, they will be bringing home their Diya lamps that they have made to share with you. We would love to see pictures sent in on Tapestry, if your family celebrate Diwali and your child is welcome to bring in any items linked to Diwali to help the children learn about this important festival.

Week beginning 13/10/25
This week the children have enjoyed listening to some of our favourite stories including The Gruffalo and Stickman. The children have enjoyed creating their own stickmen family members as well as continuing to draw their own family trees. They have also enjoyed engaging in imaginative play with our dragons after reading the story "Zog".
Next week our key texts will be Pumpkin Soup, A Pipkin of Pepper and The Roll-away Pumpkin.
If you have any pumpkins you can spare at home, we would love it if you can bring these in next week to use in our activities.

Week beginning 06/10/25
This week the children have enjoyed listening to stories celebrating Autumn and the different feelings we experience. They have made beautiful pictures using our Autumn finds, including leaf litter pictures and conker rolling paintings.

Feeling Good week: . As part of our ongoing work to promote positive mental health, we are taking part in Feeling Good Week. Goslings, Ducklings are invited to wear their own clothes on Monday 6th October to celebrate the start of this ‘feel good’ week. Goslings and Chicks are invited to wear their own clothes on Friday 10th October to celebrate World Mental Health Day. We will also be sharing the story "The Invisible String" and encouraging the children to draw their own family and teaching them that we are all connected by love.
Maths: We are continuing to learn to recognise the numbers 1-3 without having to count (subitising)and matching the correct number of objects to the numeral (up to 5). We will be focusing on learning to recognise and write the numeral 2. See how many pairs of objects you can find when you are out and about.
Individual Infant photos: These photos will take place on Wednesday 8th October. Please ensure you child is wearing the correct school uniform including a school jumper or cardigan for their photo. The Ducklings photos will be 9-9.30. Goslings: 9.30-10.00. Chicks: 1.00-1.30.
Wellies: Please ensure that your child has a named pair of wellies at nursery that we can keep here in case of wet weather, so that your child can continue to enjoy the outdoor area when it is wet.
Autumn treasures: Please continue to enjoy Autumn walks with your child and bring in any conkers, acorns, leaves and sticks that you find, so that we can use them in our craft sessions this week.

This week the children have enjoyed the story "Monkey Puzzle" and they have enjoyed exploring the different animals in the story. We have also enjoyed looking at different types of families as well as exploring what it means to be kind. We have enjoyed using our apples in the garden to make prints to display in Apple cottage.

Week Beginning 15/09/25
The Gosling and Chick children have been so confident during their first settles into nursery and we have all enjoyed getting to know each other during these settles. They have all enjoyed exploring their new environment and playing with the different toys on offer. This week, we will be settling the ducklings into nursery as well as welcoming our Gosling and Chicks back into nursery to complete their first full days in Nursery.
